Mayville-Portland Trail System

Trail Conditions 3-6-2003: Trails closed due to lack of snow.
Think snow!!!

The Mayville-Portland trail system is a 95 mile loop located in the East part of North Dakota.  There is an extension off of the main trail to Hillsboro which is a 15 mile loop which comes back onto the main trail. Towns located on the trail are Portland, Mayville, Hillsboro, Cummings, Buxton, Reynolds, and Hatton. The Mayville-Portland trail system connects to the Red River North trail association at Reynolds. The May-Port Sno Travelers completed the construction of a new warming shelter which is located in the woods between Hatton and Portland.  The May-Port Sno Travelers are also working on a trail to Clifford so the system can connect with the Hope trail system.   The May-Port Sno Travelers own their own 14 foot wide drag and rent a Cat Challenger from a local farmer which is used to groom this trail system. The May-Port and Cummings clubs mark the trail and May-Port does all the grooming.
